The right advice when it's needed

Appointing an Executor to administer your estate after your death requires careful consideration. Whilst a high level of competence and experience in managing the legal issues of administering an estate is important, it’s also necessary to choose an executor able to act independently, with sensitivity and fairness to all your beneficiaries during what is a very emotional time.

An Executor or Administrator is authorised to carry out the wishes and terms of the Will of the deceased, protect and manage assets, verify debts and deal with any tax issues, distribute assets to beneficiaries and overcome any legal challenges that may result. Where there is no Will, the estate will be distributed to beneficiaries as set out in the Administration Act 1969.

As experienced and respected Executors and Trustees, Guardian Trust can attend to all aspects of your estate administration with expertise and compassion, either as the Executor appointed under your Will, or as an agent to assist the Executor.
